Bourges Basket 91 MBK Ruzomberok 57

13 November 2003

Bourges struggled with their shooting in the early going, and Ruzomberok took advantage, grabbing the lead. Ruzomberok has one of the youngest teams in the competition this season and guard Renata Popelkova is the only player over 23 on the whole roster. Their inexperience showed as they began to commit many fouls, allowing Bourges to come back.

The French side took the lead in the 6th minute and would not relinquish it for the rest of the game. They gradually increased their advantage, which reached 15 points by halftime, 44:29.

Some accurate long range shooting saw Ruzomberok come back a little bit, but Bourges’ supremacy was never in danger and they coasted to a 91:57 victory.,

Lithuanian center Iveta Marcauskaité led all scorers with 18 points for Bourges. French national team player Sandra Dijon added 11 points and 9 rebounds. Her fellow national team player Elodie Godin contributed 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Center Veronika Garcárová led Ruzomberok in scoring and rebounding with 16 and 9 respectively.

Game MVP: Sandra Dijon
