BC Enisey romped to a 96-70 road win over Tartu Rock to keep alive their hopes of progressing from Group R in the FIBA Europe Cup Round of 32.
Turning Point: Enisey led from start to finish, and seven unanswered points saw them romp into a 14-2 lead on David Kennedy's jump shot midway through the first quarter. Tartu got the gap back to four midway through the second period but could not find a way to wrest the lead away.
Game Hero: Kennedy dominated at both ends of the court for Enisey as he collected 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Stats Don't Lie: Tartu simply could not find a way to slow Enisey's offence as they shot 33-of-60 (55%) from the field, compared to 25-of-72 (35%) for the hosts.
The Bottom Line: Defeat for Tartu eliminates them from contention to advance, while Enisey will now await with interest the outcome of Wednesday's contest between Elan Chalon and Foxtown Cantu. Defeat for Cantu would send Enisey through, while they could also advance if the final margin of a Cantu win was close enough. This big win leaves Enisey with a goal difference of +16, while Cantu will start against Chalon at -12.
They Said: "We needed our guys to focus 100% and very much needed a victory as large as possible. We were happy with what the guys did today; they played like we asked them to. I hope it will get us through." - BC Enisey head coach Oleg Okulov.
"We played four good games in this group and two really bad ones - both against Enisey. In the beginning it felt like a déjà vu. One team dominated the game totally. We had some players missing today, but I think even with a full roster Enisey would have been a really tough opponent for us." - Tartu Rock head coach Gert Kullamäe.
