Fraport Skyliners improved their winning run across domestic and European action to nine games with a comfortable 76-51 Group G road win over ZZ Leiden, locking down a Round of 32 place in the process.
Turning Point: Leading 14-13 seven minutes into the game, home side ZZ Leiden lapsed at the back end of the opening frame, allowing their guests to go on a 13-2 romp which crossed into the second frame and effectively put them in the driver's seat for the remainder of the night.
Stats Don't Lie: Fraport Skyliners were all over their hosts down-low, outscoring Leiden 28-18 in the paint.
Game Hero: On a well-rounded Skyliners scoresheet that had eight contributors, Konstantin Klein stood slightly out from the crowd, the young German guard nailing 4-of-7 three-pointers in a 14-point performance.
The Bottom Line: One of the hottest teams in Europe right now, the Skyliners have two more Regular Season games to sharpen their game further ahead of the next round. Leiden need to reverse their fortunes fast if they are still to be any chance of finishing third in the group.
They Said: "We tried to play good defence for forty minutes. We succeeded by playing pretty good defence. 51 points scored against us is excellent. Now we have to try to keep the streak alive." - Konstantin Klein, Fraport Skyliners.
