A huge fourth quarter lifted Elan Chalon to a 91-80 road win over Tartu University Rock as they stayed perfect in Group R of the FIBA Europe Cup.
Turning Point: Elan Chalon's unbeaten record in the Round of 32 was in danger as Tartu led 38-28 late in the second quarter and found themselves ahead for most of the third. But a 14-0 fourth quarter charge put Elan Chalon 73-67 up on Tyler Kalinoski's three-pointer with 6:46 to go, and they did not look back, outscoring Tartu 34-18 in the final period.
Game Heroes: Although both Jeremy Hazell and Kalinoski finished ahead of him in the scoring charts, John Roberson made his team-mates better as he added 11 assists to his 19-point haul.
Stats Don't Lie: Tartu committed 19 turnovers and Elan Chalon made them pay with a 27-11 edge in points from turnovers.
The Bottom Line: Elan Chalon are firmly on course for the Round of 16 with a 4-0 record at the top of the group, but Tartu's late collapse ended their hopes as they fell to 0-4.
They Said: "We played two good games against Chalon, maybe our best games this season, but lost both of them and that's how it is. We know that Chalon has powerful players inside, but today two shooters beat us. Our goal was to advance from this group, but realistically the situation is that we are 0-4 and our chances for this season have vanished. But we will play the last two games for pride and hopefully can be a nuisance to other teams and maybe get some wins out of the games." - Tartu Rock head coach Gert Kullamäe.
