|Justyna Zurowska was one of the key players in Wisla Can-Pack's home victory against Brno|
After crashing heavily to Uni Gyor prior to the mid-season break, Wisla Can-Pack tipped off 2013 in real style with a convincing 69-47 success against BK Imos Brno.
The home side raced out of the blocks to rack up the first nine points of the game and with Brno left standing and floundering on the start line, Wisla were able to use and build on their early cushion to stroll to a fine victory.
Firmly in control from tip to buzzer, it was the defence of the Krakow favourites which proved to be the difference maker.
Brno spilled the ball 23 times and with Paulina Pawlak and Dora Horti managing to harvest a combined ten steals, it characterised why Wisla were able to come up with 18 fast-break points - a number which pretty much buried the hopes of the visitors.
As the game unfolded, Brno tried in vain to post the kind of run which might have put the result back in the balance, but it just never materialised.
With Tina Charles claiming 17 points and 15 rebounds for Wisla, they always had the one real marquee player to overwork the visiting defence and that was telling. As were two excellent cameo performances by Polish duo Katarzyna Krezel and Justyna Zurowska.
It was a real night to forget for Brno who were off-colour for sure and produced their worst shooting night of the campaign, with only 21-year-old Alena Hanusova breaking double-digits with 13 points.
