|Iva Ciglar knows there is no room for error for UE Sopron |
Iva Ciglar is looking for Uniqa Euroleasing Sopron to take their game to the next level as they put their play-off prospects on the line during the last weeks of the EuroLeague Women regular season.
The Croatian national team playmaker is acutely aware that with a 3-6 record and time running out, there is no room for error in the pursuit of a coveted place in the post-season.
The guard was speaking ahead of a tough match-up against Nadezhda Orenburg and with her team sitting precariously in last spot in Group B.
"It is an important game for us, because every win counts if we want to advance to the next phase," underlined Ciglar.
"But what is most important, is that we improve our game and we rise to higher level of playing.
"We need this for games to come that will mean much more.
"In order to win this game against Nadezhda, we need to focus on their key players, but also on minimising our own mistakes, playing smarter and running the court much better."
The big positive for Ciglar and Co is that two of their three wins have come on home soil, although they are looking to avoid what could be a season-ending losing streak which currently stands at three games.
Nadezhda will arrive with Temeka Johnson back on board after her namesake Glory Johnson sustained a finger injury last week and is likely to be out for a few weeks.
The Russian side have won their last five games against Hungarian opposition in the competition and will be keen to bounce back from their defeat to Fenerbahce something which would rubber-stamp their place in the play-offs.
