|Tina Charles will return to Istanbul for her second stint in this city, only this time she will be based on the other side of the Bosphorus|
Fenerbahce have made a major statement of intent by signing former WNBA MVP Tina Charles, as well as extending the contracts of standout wing duo Angel McCoughtry and Agnieszka Bibrzycka.
The arrival of reigning EuroCup Women champion Charles, who has previously played for arch rivals Galatasaray, is likely to be viewed as a major coup for Fenerbahce.
Charles averaged a superb season double-double of 18.9 points and 10.2 rebounds last season on her way to helping Dynamo Moscow retain their EuroCup Women title.
The club has also opted to keep faith with its two major wing options which is probably not a surprise, since both players were highly productive last season in EuroLeague Women and domestically.
McCoughtry will embark on a fifth season in Istanbul having racked up an impressive 14.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game in EuroLeague Women, as well as leading the competition in steals with an average of 2.9 each time she stepped onto the floor.
Meanwhile Bibrzycka averaged 9.2 points and 2.6 rebounds in the tournament during what was her rookie season with the team.
The trio join Birsel Vardarli and Olcay Cakir on the roster, alongside the recently acquired Astou Ndour and Tugba Palazoglu.
However, there will be no sixth consecutive season for Nevin Nevlin who is moving across the city to Istanbul Universitesi, having seen her court time squeezed tightly in recent times.
The player represented the Turkish national team at Eurobasket Women 2009 and then two years later when she was instrumental in helping her adopted nation attain their highest-ever finish with a memorable silver medal in Poland.
