| Courtney Vandersloot returns to EuroLeague Women following a short stint with WBC Novi Zagreb last year |
Still rebuilding their squad in the wake of the tragedy which rocked the entire basketball community, Uni Gyor have turned to American duo Courtney Vandersloot and Joslyn Tinkle.
Playmaker Vandersloot played a couple of games in the competition last season with WBC Novi Zagreb last year, but finished the season with MBK Ruzomberok in the Slovak Republic.
The Gonzaga graduate has also played for Besiktas in EuroCup Women and comes to Europe off the back of her most successful and productive WNBA campaign, having helped Chicago Sky claim the Eastern Conference regular season title.
Tinkle has only just graduated from Stanford, where she averaged 11.8 points and 5.7 rebounds-per-game and whilst the forward did not feature in the WNBA draft, she was still subsequently handed a short-term contract by Seattle Storm.
Gyor are somehow trying to put the pieces back together after head coach Akos Fuzy and team manager Peter Tapodi both lost their lives in a tragic road traffic accident on 07 September.
Serbian forward Natasa Kovacevic meanwhile continues to recover from having part of her leg amputated and is understood to be making good progress in her rehabilitation programme which is currently taking place in Belgrade.
