Granted Swedish citizenship on the eve of EuroBasket Women, Ashley Key caught the attention of major European clubs whilst in France

BK Imos Brno have given the chance for naturalised Swedish small forward Ashley Key to make her EuroLeague Women debut next season, whilst Novi Zagreb have handed veteran guard Milica Dabovic a route back into the competition.

Things have certainly lifted off in a big way for Key during the past few months. The American was handed Swedish citizenship on the eve of EuroBasket Women and was a pivotal player in a thrilling and absorbing run to the quarter-finals, where the Swedes were beaten in a classic against hosts France.

Key showed why she would be an attractive proposition for EuroLeague Women clubs by showcasing her all-round game - particularly her defensive capabilities - along with an ability to change games with big shots from the perimeter at crucial moments.

Key averaged 9.5 points-per-game for Sweden and that came off the back of her typical influential performances in the Swedish League, where she has been a star for several years. Last season she averaged 22 points with 6.9 rebounds and 4.6 assists-per-game with Mark Basket.

Meanwhile Dabovic enjoyed her EuroBasket Women experiences even more after helping lead Serbia to a historic semi-final place and to also book a berth at the FIBA World Championship for Women for the very first time.

She will try to help Novi Zagreb take a step forward in the wake of their tough initiation to the competition last season and brings welcome prior experience of the competition, even though she has not featured during the last four campaigns.

Dabovic has played for some of the giants of EuroLeague Women in the past, having pulled on the famous vests of Russian heavyweight duo UMMC Ekaterinburg and Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje. She last played during the 2008-09 season with Besiktas Cola Turka.

For the last four years, Dabovic has been competing in EuroCup Women, with three of those in her homeland at Partizan Galenika. Last season she averaged 17 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists for the club.
