CONTINUITY ASSURED AT BOURGES
Tango Bourges club President, Pierre Fosset has revealed that in addition to Les Bleues duo Celine Dumerc and Diandra Tchatchouang who are both under contract for next season along with Paoline Salagnac, deals for 2014-15 have now been struck with back-up guard Romane Bernies and Great Britain star Johannah Leedham.
The club is also apparently keen on retaining the services of French national team forward Endene Miyem and Australian center Marianna Tolo, something they are continuing to work on as they try to successfully defend their French Championship as well as lifting the French Cup.
Two players who definitely won't be returning are Dutch forward Chatilla van Grinsven and veteran center, Emmeline Ndongue.
XARGAY STAYS WITH SALAMANCA
Spanish national team guard Marta Xargay will remain with Perfumerias Avenida for another two years in an agreement which will see her extend her career at the club to seven consecutive seasons.
A defensive powerhouse for her country last summer en-route to gold at EuroBasket Women 2013, the guard is now captain of her club side.
She has been described by her employers as their flagship player who represents the values of Avenida.
Xargay has apparently turned down some highly lucrative offers to stay in Salamanca, which meant Club President Jorge Recio was particularly thrilled to have kept her.
He said, "It was the dream of the whole club and fans, I am extremely happy.
"She has not been put on the market because it was clear despite having been offered deals, it was very important that she wanted to stay here."
Meanwhile Xargay added, "I am happy to be here for two more years and I am proud to wear this shirt.
"The project here (at Avenida) is very large and I want to keep it growing. I still have much room for improvement and this is the best club for it.
"My priority is to always improve and ultimately this is my home and that outweighs money."
