Zagreb Changes Can’t Halt Classy Prague

Despite a roster makeover during the winter break, WBC Novi Zagreb didn't get the change of EuroLeague Women fortunes they were seeking after being hammered 87-49 by ZVVZ USK Prague.

The home side were left distraught as the Group C leaders showed their quality with a ruthless and classy performance to soar to a sixth win in seven games.

The arrival of Jelena Ivezic and Elina Babkina couldn't prevent the Croatians from dropping to a sixth loss in seven outings, as their hopes of making the next phase of the tournament faded a little further into the distance.

Prague were rampant from the first second and opened up their account with a 21-7 first quarter to assume control early.

They continued in the same vein for the most part and with the influential Luca Ivankovic fouling out for the hosts with six minutes to play, even reducing the damage proved an uphill struggle for Zagreb.

Eva Viteckova and Jelena Dubljevic were both exceptional with a combined 42 points for the visitors.

Ivezic recorded 13 points on debut for her new team.
