Arguably an unsung hero for this Spanish team, Cruz is yet another player who is multi-skilled and a real three-dimensional player. She has a great basketball IQ and is happy to drive inside from the wings and get to the hoop or shoot the three-ball if she is set. While she is undoubtedly capable of finishing and shooting the ball better than she showed during the last big tournament at the World Championship Women in the Czech Republic, she brings more to the table in terms of her defence and the way she fits into this team as a real glue player. She has been a key part of the first two EuroLeague Women campaigns with Rivas Ecopolis while her all round skills and influence also helped the Madrid team win the Copa De La Reina earlier this year. |
