BASKETBALL IN EUROPE
|Zane Tamane returns to Nadezhda for a second stint|
The chase for titles in Russia and the EuroLeague Women is sure to intensify following several major signings by Nadezhda Orenburg.
Zane Tamane is returning to Nadezhda, the team she had already played for in the 2008/09 season in the EuroLeague Women.
Tamane was a leading player in the Fenerbahce side that went unbeaten in the EuroLeague Women before falling in an upset to Rivas Ecopolis at the Final Eight, and arrives in Oreburg along with Dewanna Bonner, a former standout at Brno, Rivas and most recently Perfumerias Avenida.
Montenegro power forward/center Iva Perovanovic has departed CCC Polkowice for Nadezhda, and American guards Kelly Miller and Renee Montgomery have also joined the club.
Perovanovic was among the leading players at last year's EuroBasket Women and had a solid campaign with Polkowice, helping the club reach the League Finals in Poland.
Montgomery had been on the books of Seat Gyor last season but left the club after just three EuroLeague games in which she averaged 16 points and 2.7 assists.
Nadezhda reached the Second Round of the EuroLeague Women.
Prague Finally Get Dubljevic
|Versatile forward Jelena Dubljevic is joining Prague, further strengthening their front court|
A player who joined Nadezhda during the 2011-12 campaign, Montenegro international Jelena Dubljevic, has penned a deal with ZVVZ USK Prague.
Prague have been interested in the player for some time, dating back to her spell at Tarbes in France during the 2010-11 season.
"When last year we had a lot of players injured, we tried to get her during the season from Orenburg but failed," Prague general manager Marek Kucera revealed on the Prague website.
"Now, however, we have an agreement and we are glad that next season Jelena will wear the ZVVZ USK jersey."
Dubljevic played five EuroLeague Women games for Rivas Ecopolis and six for Nadezhda.
Her combined average was 7.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per contest.
At last year's EuroBasket Women in Poland, Dubljevic was outstanding, averaging 13.9 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists.

American center Jantel Lavender has left CCC Polkowice for Beretta-Famila Schio, the club has announced.
Lavender, 23, had spells with both Besiktas in Turkey and CCC Polkowice last season.
In two games in the EuroCup Women she averaged 18.0 points and 9.5 rebounds and in the EuroLeague Women she contributed with 8.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest.
