Valeriya Musina led the charge for CCC Polkowice, adding 8 rebounds to her 12 points
CCC Polkowice extracted sweet revenge for their shock EuroLeague Women home loss against Kibirkstis VICI-Vilnius earlier in the season by returning the favour with a 54-39 road win in Group C.
Having endured a turbulent first-half of the campaign, the Polish club started off the new calendar year on a winning note by taking only their second victory of the season to hand themselves a potential play-off lifeline.
With the home team struggling for confidence after four successive losses, CCC Polkowice were able to make it five in a row for the Lithuanian champions.
They stifled the home offence and especially during the second half as they took advantage of some woeful shooting from Kibirkstis who had drafted in Marina Solopova in a bid to halt their losing run.
She managed 11 points along with Hollie Mershon, but Kibirkstis were firmly second best after the break, having trailed by only 21-19 entering into the second-half.
However, if they found scoring difficult during the first twenty minutes, it became even more difficult against the Polkowice brick wall as they mustered a mere four points during the third quarter.
Whilst the visitors hardly enjoyed a great shooting performance themselves, they were still able to ease away, with Russian guard Valeriya Musina and Australian Belinda Snell sharing 24 points.
Their efforts were supported by a nice efficient came of 10 points from Magdalena Skorek which made a big difference.
