|Back on the block: Janel Mc Carville|
Having been unable to re-sign marquee player Nnemkadi Ogwumike, who propelled CCC Polkowice to a first ever Final Eight appearance last season, the Polish champions have turned to the vastly experienced hand of Janel Mc Carville.
The versatile American, who can play in either position in the frontcourt, is a former EuroLeague Women champion and Polkowice will become her fifth club in the competition.
The 30-year-old started out her EuroLeague Women career with Kosit Kosice 2013 and went on to CSKA Moscow, before embarking on a memorable title winning campaign during 2010 with Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje.
She last played at Famila Schio where she spent two seasons, including one which culminated in a spot at Final Eight in Istanbul last year.
Having not stepped out in the competition last season after spending time in the Turkish league with Canik Belediye, Mc Carville will get to go back to Vidnoje who are one of the Group C rivals of CCC Polkowice.
Club President, Krzysztof Korsak is hoping the player can have a big impact when she arrives.
"Janel is a basketball player with great experience" he said.
"Her skills, achievements and potential, means we place high expectations on her.
"We hope that in a prominent way, she will help us in the fight both domestically and in EuroLeague Women."
Having opted not to play for the last two summers in the WNBA, Mc Carville returned this year and is currently playing with Minnesota Lynx.
