Dewanna Bonner was simply unstoppable in Nadezhda's win at Wisla
A spectacular near triple-double from DeWanna Bonner propelled Nadezhda Orenburg to a memorable 83-76 success at Wisla Can-Pack as they booked a historic first spot at the EuroLeague Women Final Eight.
Nadezhda ensured all three Russian teams in the competition will be represented at the season finale next month in Ekaterinburg, after riding on the back of a sensational contribution by the forward.
The 26-year-old finished the contest with a majestic 29 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists as Nadezhda finished the game with a flourish to ease their way to what was a fourth successive win of the campaign against their Polish opponents.
Wisla had their own potential saviour in the shape of the irrepressible Jantel Lavender, but even her heroics of 29 points and 11 rebounds wasn't sufficient as Nadezhda made the shots they needed down the stretch.
In a game which had witnessed none of the big runs or periods of domination which characterised the first game of the play-off series, neither team could establish decent daylight and it inevitably boiled down to execution during crunch time.
Zane Tamane scored a free-throw for Wisla with six minutes remaining to lock the game up at 68-68, but Nadezhda then found the extra gear at both ends of the floor.
They held the home side to one score in the next four minutes and once Bonner put them 76-70 ahead, it was vitrtually all over.
And, just to be absolutely sure, Greek star Zoi Dimitrakou effectively delivered the killer blow with a long jump-shot inside the last minute to seal the deal.
