BASKETBALL IN EUROPE
|Coach Noculak says the new playing style will favour Lotos Gdynia's many young players, like 22-year-old Magda Kaczmarska|
Lotos Gdynia haven't been without a coach for long.
Following Javier Fort's decision to resign from the post, the club has announced 61-year-old Miroslaw Noculak has taken the reins.
Looking ahead to next season, Noculak said Lotos Gdynia will have a "faster and more aggressive" style and will therefore need to have a deep rotation of players.
"This will be an opportunity for young basketball players that will be on our team," he said.
Lotos Gdynia played in the 2011-12 EuroLeague Women but did not reach the Second Round.
The outfit lost in a thrilling five-game semi-final series in the Polish league (PLKK) play-offs to CCC Polkowice.
CHANGES AT WISLA
Gdynia rivals and PLKK champions Wisla Can-Pack Krakow have signed Poland international Justyna Zurowska.
The 27-year-old played for Gdynia in the EuroLeague Women but then moved to France to compete for Basket Landes.
In 16 games for the French club, Zurowska averaged 9.4 points and 7.1 rebounds.
Katarzyna Krezel, meanwhile, has received a one-year contract extension from Wisla.
