| 25.01.2012 EUROLEAGUE WOMEN Lotos Gdynia put forth a gallant second-half effort and won at VICI Aistes in the EuroLeague Women Group A on Wednesday. In a fight between two sides with no chances of progressing from Group A, Javier Fort's team battled and deservedly clinched a third win of its European campaign. Gdynia trailed by 10 points in the first half but clawed their way back and went to half-time down, 38-36. The visitors took their first lead midway through the third quarter when Geraldine Robert made a jump shot. Courtnay Pilypaitis answered with a three-pointer for VICI Aistes to reclaim the advantage for the hosts. The game stayed tight into the fourth quarter. With 4:25 to go and Gdynia in front, 62-58, Jolene Anderson nailed a three-ball and that sucked the life out of the Lithuanians. VICI Aistes fell to 2-11 with the setback. Anderson finished with 22 points for Gdynia and Vita Kuktiene ended up with 19 for VICI Aistes. |
