|Yelena Leuchanka has ended her time with Good Angels Kosice, moving her services to Turkey to play for Istanbul Universitesi|
Belarusian star Yelena Leuchanka has swapped life in EuroLeague Women with Good Angels Kosice, for potential EuroCup Women glory with Istanbul Universitesi.
After penning a short-term deal with Kosice, the center averaged seven points and 6.7 rebounds per game in six EuroLeague Women outings and a near double-double of 15.1 points and 9.8 rebounds in the Middle European League.
Ambitious and making a strong push for EuroCup Women title success, Istanbul Universitesi have made their move for the 30-year-old, with the Turkish club having already placed one foot firmly in the quarter-finals of the competition.
They routed Aluinvent Miskloc 87-55 on the road in the first leg of their eighth-final tie last week and are likely to seal their place in the last eight later when they step out for the return encounter.
Universitesi already boast a deep roster and Leuchanka will join a powerful frontcourt which includes fellow veteran Irina Osipova, Melisa Can and also Crystal Langhorne, who won EuroCup Women last season with Dynamo Moscow.
Good Angels Kosice are yet to confirm if they will replace Leuchanka as they bid to stop their three game losing streak on home soil.
