|Angel McCoughtry led Fenerbahce to victory with a 23-point, 10-rebound double-double|
A late rally from Good Angels Kosice fell agonisingly short as they went down 93-91 on the road to Fenerbahce in Group B EuroLeague Women action.
Good Angels finished on an 8-1 run to make the hosts sweat but Helena Sverrisdottir's late heave missed on the buzzer as Fenerbahce hung on.
Earlier in the night it appeared Fener were making relatively light work of Good Angels, with a three-point play from Agnieszka Bibrzycka making it 45-31 late in the second quarter.
Good Angels rallied and briefly snatched the lead, 70-69, on a Petra Kulichova jump-shot a minute into the final quarter, but Fener soon restored a double-digit lead and looked to have everything in hand as they led 92-83 with a little over a minute left.
But Sverrisdottir and Alexandria Quigley hit back-to-back three-pointers to make it a three-point game with 47 seconds left. Both teams then missed threes before Plenette Pierson sank a jump-shot to bring Good Angels within one.
Cappie Pondexter could only split her free throws with seven seconds left to leave the door open for Good Angels, but Sverrisdottir's three-pointer would not go at the death.
Angel McCoughtry led Fenerbahce with 23 points and 10 rebounds while Bibrzycka amassed 18 points. Pondexter finished with 16 and Ivana Matovic had 15. Birsel Vardarli and Anastasiya Verameyenka also reached double figures with 10 points apiece.
Pierson had 20 points for Good Angels, while Quigley and Kulichova finished with 14 each and Sverrisdottir and Tijana Krivacevic had 11 each.
The win lifts Fener to 4-1 while Good Angels drop to 3-2.
