| 20 February 2013 EUROLEAGUE WOMEN Fenerbahce stormed out of the gates on Tuesday night to clinch a convincing 93-61 victory and a 1-0 lead in their EuroLeague Women play-off series against Uni Györ. The Turkish side built a comfortable 54-35 cushion after the first 20 minutes, with Ivana Matovic carrying her team on her back with 22 points next to her name. The Serbian center finished the game with 28 points on 13-of-15 shooting from the floor, while adding eight rebounds and four assists in 26 minutes of playing time. Her best performance of the season culminated in an efficiency rating of 39 and earned her Play-Offs Day 1 MVP honours. The fans in Istanbul will be pleased that the 29-year-old will spend another year in the city, having extended her contract with Fenerbahce last week. Veteran Rebekka Hammon finished in second place in the MVP ranking after rolling back the years and recording personal season-highs in points and assists. The Russian guard scored 23 points and dished out nine assists to help Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje prevail over a resilient Municipal Targoviste, 91-84. Rivas Ecopolis' Oleksandra Kurasova and Nadezhda's Dewanna Bonner shared third place with an efficiency of 28, respectively, but will hardly find comfort from their individual displays, as both their teams suffered losses.
