|Elina Babkina averaged close to 10 points for WBC Novi Zagreb in the EuroLeague Women regular season|
Latvian guard Elina Babkina is making a switch from WBC Novi Zagreb to EuroLeague Women Final Eight hopefuls Nadezhda Orenburg.
The 24-year-old had been brought in by the Croatians mid-season in an attempt to spark their campaign into life, but the club could only manage a couple of wins and were left disappointed as they crashed out of the competition.
Babkina averaged 9.8 points and 3.5 assists in the Croatian capital and will now step out for Nadezhda, where she will be reunited with Greek play-caller George Dikeoulakos, who has coached her for most of her EuroLeague Women career.
This will be the seventh club Babkina has represented in the tournament, previously suiting up for TTT Riga, Lotos Gdynia, Fenerbahce, Municipal Targoviste, ZVVZ USK Prague and of course WBC Novi Zagreb.
Nadezhda are currently second in the Russian Premier League and are bidding to see off Wisla Can-Pack in the EuroLeague Women play-offs as they look to book a first-ever spot at the Final Eight.
Babkina has already got some experience of the Final Eight under her belt having played for Fenerbahce during the 2011-12 season.
