Lina Pikciute was the crown in Vilnius Kibirkstis' victory with 17 points and 11 rebounds
Kibirkstis-VICI Vilnius picked up their first EuroLeague Women victory since way back in November after taking a memorable 86-68 win against fellow Group C strugglers Novi Zagreb.
The Lithuanian side exploded with a mesmerising 28-15 final quarter to blow a hole in the play-off hopes of the Croatian visitors who can no longer qualify.
It was a big turnaround for Kibirkstis who looked to be on course for a seventh consecutive defeat when they fell 40-29 behind after a score by Zagreb guard Elina Babkina shortly before the break.
But, whatever head-coach Jurgita Streimikyte-Virbickiene said in the locker-room at half-time certainly worked as Kibirkstis stunned their opponents by proceeding to rack up a mammoth 55 second-half points.
Within five minutes of the players getting back to the floor, Ieva Krastina had put Kibirsktis 43-42 ahead and when Greta Sniokaite hit a triple with the last shot of the period, the home team were on a roll at 58-53.
Sensing a third success of the campaign, they continued their stellar work into the last quarter and left Zagreb trailing in their wake, thanks mainly to some deadly outside shooting.
Sniokaite finished with a trio of three-pointers en-route to 13 points and Vita Kuktiene was perfect from downtown to claim 15 points.
However, the jewel in the Kibirkstis crown was Lina Pikciute, who racked up a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Novi Zagreb had five players in double-digits, led by Jelena Ivezic with 14 points, but suffered from their inability to make outside shots.
