After four straight losses, relieved Nadezhda Orenburg have their first EuroLeague Women win on the board after 20 points from Natalia Zhedik facilitated a much needed 71-48 success against UE Sopron.

The Russian national team guard caught fire from downtown and sunk a spectacular five of six shots from the three-point line to hand new head coach George Dikeoulakos his first victory at his fourth EuroLeague Women club.

Staring down the barrel at an unthinkable fifth defeat in a row which would probably have been fatal, home nerves began to become frayed as free-throws by Katarina Tetemondova put the visitors 28-25 ahead.

However, the hosts finished the first-half with a flourish to grab the initiative and they never looked back.

They outscored the visitors 12-3 off a run sparked by a triple from Zhedik, who along with Marina Kuzina and Zoi Dimitrakou, combined for a sparkling nine of ten shooting display during the opening twenty minutes.

As the confidence began to flow, Nadezhda looked a rejuvenated team and sensing their opportunity, they put their foot on the gas and UE Sopron went into meltdown.

Already ahead 53-44, the Russian club dominated the last quarter and outscored Sopron 20-7 to storm to their first victory.

Dewanna Bonner weighed in with a nice cameo of 15 points, five rebounds and three assists, whilst Tianna Hawkins also scored 15 points in defeat.
