Polkowice Finish On A High In Prague

Belinda Snell stood out again for CCC Polkowice with a 28-point, 7-rebound performance

CCC Polkowice signed off their EuroLeague Women Group C campaign in real style as they chalked up a third win in four games with an impressive 71-60 success at ZVVZ USK Prague.

Just as they did last week in Zagreb, the Polish club came out of the locker room at the break to produce a quite extraordinary second half of basketball to leave the home side absolutely stunned.

It was a fascinating roller-coaster game with the pendulum swinging vigorously in favour of both teams at various junctures.

After the visitors had shaded the first quarter 18-14, the wheels came off in a big way when they were then outscored 20-7 by Prague during the second period, resulting in a worrying 34-25 deficit at the interval.

But, they once again made the necessary adjustments which proved to be fruitful when they returned to the floor.

The game was turned on its' head once more as they opened up the third quarter with a 15-5 burst, which helped them to take the lead through a basket by Magdalena Leicejewska.

Still holding a one-point advantage heading into the last period, CCC Polkowice then shifted up a gear and Prague couldn't keep pace as they drained three consecutive triples, Belinda Snell hitting back-to-back scores from long-range followed by Dorota Mistygacz.

That gave the away team the impetus they needed to stroll to victory with Snell and Nnemkadi Ogwumike leading the way.

The former claimed a game-high 28 points, whilst the latter claiming a double-double of 24 points and 14 rebounds. Laia Palau also contributed 11 assists.

Rebekkah Brunson stood out in defeat with 15 points and nine rebounds.
