ZVVZ USK Prague snatched victory at the death as they beat CCC Polkowice 67-65 in a EuroLeague Women Group C thriller. In a game that saw 13 lead changes, Prague pulled ahead for the final time with 19 seconds left and then hung on as Laia Palau missed two free throws for Polkowice with one tick left on the clock. The scores were tied at 59 when Palau made a jump-shot with five minutes to go. Jelena Skerovic's three gave Prague the lead, but, Nnemkadi Ogwumike completed a three-point play from the line to tie it up once more and Valeriya Musina's three saw the game swing in Polkowice's favour with 2:36 left to go. Both teams missed three-pointers before Skerovic levelled it up at 65 with 66 seconds left. Musina missed a lay-up for Polkowice and Rebbekah Brunson took advantage as her jump-shot gave Prague a two-point edge. Brunson was then called for the foul on Palau with just one second left, but she missed both, and Vaughn got the defensive rebound on the second to preserve the win. Brunson finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds for Prague, while Skerovic had 15 and nine boards. Ilona Burgrova also scored in double figures with 10 points. Ogwumike finished with 16 points and eight rebounds for Polkowice while Belinda Snell scored 14 and Musina 10. The win lifts Prague to 2-3 while Polkowice drop to 2-4. |
