Dazzling Dumerc Dishes Up Road Success

Celine Dumerc recorded her first double-double of the EuroLeague Women season

French national team star Celine Dumerc underlined her playmaking qualities with a dazzling display for Bourges Basket after registering a double-double of 13 points and 10 assists to help her team claim a 65-59 success at Uni Györ in EuroLeague Women Group A.

With both teams already assured of their play-off place, this clash was all about improving their respective rankings and finding some momentum with the post-season rapidly bearing down.

Bourges gained satisfaction from rubber-stamping their status as the second best team in the group and were also boosted by a much needed road win - only their second of the campaign.

Uni Györ meanwhile have lost several key personnel in recent weeks but again posted an encouraging display, taking Bourges right to the wire, with the contest only being decided in the closing minutes.

At one stage, the hosts were staring down the barrel and looked to be sliding out of contention when they fell 36-27 behind. But, they fought back impressively and even took the lead through a Natalie Hurst free throw at 42-41.

With the game level at 53-53 with less than five minutes to play, Bouges posted the game-winning run with six unanswered points via scores from Endene Miyem, Johannah Leedham and Dumerc.

Györ couldn't recover as time ran out and Bourges secured the result from the free throw line.

In addition to Dumerc, there was another fine display from Miyem who was outstanding with 17 points and eight rebounds.

Krisztina Raksanyi starred for Györ with 18 points.
