Perfumerias Avenida tore apart winless Tarbes on Wednesday evening to strengthen their bid to finish second in Group B of the EuroLeague Women. Marta Fernandez had eight of her 20 points in the first quarter as the defending champions opened up a 30-18 lead and the Salamanca outfit never looked back, pulling away for a 98-69 victory. Erika De Souza led all scorers with 22 points while her Perfumerias teammate Dewanna Bonner excelled with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Bonner played for the Rest of the World at the 2011 EuroLeague Women All-Star Game when she was on the books of Rivas Ecopolis. Perfumerias, in winning for the second game in a row, improved to 7-3. Nadezhda (6-3) face Perfumerias next week in a game that could determine second spot in the pool. Lucas Mondelo's team was 39 of 62 (62.9%) from the field, including seven of 15 (46.7%) from the arc. Tarbes lost for the ninth time this season. |
