Miljana Bojovic finished the night for Good Angels Kosice with a tidy eight assists and eight points
Good Angels Kosice celebrated their first win at Steel Arena with a thrilling 71-67 overtime success over Beretta Familia Schio.
The visitors had led for the last 18 minutes of the contest but Jia Perkins was fouled by Elodie Godin and awarded three free-throws with six seconds remaining. With the atmosphere electric in the Steel Arena, Perkins calmly drained all three shots to force the game into an extra period.
The Italian team were stunned and could only register two points in overtime as Lynetta Kizer (20 points) hit two early shots to move the hosts ahead, and Farhiya Abdi (21 points) finished with the game-clinching free-throws.
Young Swedish star Abdi proved hard to contain in the first half with 16 points as her tough drives earned trips to the charity stripe. But Beretta Familia finished the half strongly and took a two-point lead into the third period.
Kosice struggled to get their offence going at times, with Beretta Familia exerting their dominance inside. Erlana Larkins anchored the visitors' defence and still crashed the offensive boards, finishing with 17 rebounds as well as 12 points and two blocks. Frontcourt partner Elodie Godin picked up 12 points and two blocks also.
Beretta Familia's lead reached ten points on Courtney Vandersloot's jumper in the third period, but the hosts rallied to force the dramatic ending.
Kizer added 14 rebounds to record a double-double, and point guard Miljana Bojovic added eight points and eight assists. Kosice visit Tango Bourges for their final Group A match on 26 February, while Beretta Familia Schio face the daunting task of travelling to group-leaders UMMC Ekaterinburg.
