EuroLeague Women and Turkish Championship runners-up Fenerbahce have turned to Polish national team play-caller Jacek Winnicki in an attempt to get back on the silverware trail.

Currently focused on punching a ticket with Poland for EuroBasket Women 2015, Winnicki will pick up the reins in Istanbul once the qualifying campaign with his home nation has concluded.

The coach has been in the hot-seat at CCC Polkowice for the last two seasons.

He guided the club to a historic maiden appearance at the EuroLeague Women Final Eight in 2013 and a sweep of domestic silverware which wrapped up the most successful and memorable campaign in the club's history.

However last season appeared to be more of a struggle.

While he still managed to reach the EuroLeague Women play-offs, he was fired during the middle of the Polish Finals against arch rivals Wisla Can-Pack.

Winnicki also has experience of EuroLeague Women from his time at Lotos Gdynia and will replace Spanish coach Roberto Iniguez, who spent two years with the Turkish powerhouse.
