Perfect Sparta&K Power Past Brno

Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje forgot about their recent domestic disappointment as they breezed past BK Imos Brno 95-63 to once again underline their qualities and stay perfect in Group A.

Having surprisingly lost successive games in the Russian League against Dynamo Moscow and Nadezhda, it was business as usual in EuroLeague Women for head coach Pokey Chatman and her players.

They collectively dismantled the visitors with ruthless authority, as Brno failed to build on the potential momentum of an overtime win against Wisla Can-Pack in their previous contest.

Suffering from the loss of former FIBA Europe Women's Player Of The Year, Hana Horakova, it was one of the last places they wanted to be as the hosts tore them apart with their depth and offensive firepower.

Surging into an early 27-16 lead which could have been even better had Romana Hejdova not nailed an audacious three-pointer from way deep, Sparta&K just began to become even more rampant as the game unfolded.

They scored the last seven points of the opening half to lead 51-31 heading into the third quarter, and they never relented as the visiting team struggled to maintain any significant resistance.

Farhiya Abdi did her best with an excellent 24 points, but this was all about the power of the Russian who had all 12 of their players manage to register a basket.

For the second consecutive game, Natalia Vieru was particularly impressive, finishing with 15 points, achieved from five-of-six floor shooting.

"Sparta&k has at least six player that are of a higher level of our players. This is a team with Olympic, World and European Champions and therefore we knew we had a difficult task at hand. Thanks to a very good team effort we succeeded. On the other hand our transition offense was good. What also made us happy is that contrary to prior games we had a good second half. Slowly we are getting to where we want to be."

We followed the coaching staff's instruction and we tried our best to play good defense and I believe the final score shows that.
