BASKETBALL IN EUROPE
|Kia Vaughn is replacing DeLisha Milton Jones under the basket for USK Prague|
USK Prague had a big clear-out after their domestic play-off championship triumph over Frisco Brno but the club looks as if it will be as strong as ever.
The Czech giants have already swooped for the 1.93m center Kia Vaughn, a player on the books of Cras Basket Taranto.
Vaughn, 25, averaged 14 points and 8.4 rebounds for the Italian outfit in Europe.
Taranto came up short of the Second Round in the EuroLeague but won the Italian Cup (Coppa Italia) and also lead Beretta-Famila 2-0 in the Italian play-off championship series.
Prague have said that negotiations for the services of the pivot were easy.
"The meeting went very well," USK Prague general manager Marek Kucera said.
"Kia has the same agent as (former Prague playmaker) Ticha Penicheiro, so the references were good."
Prague reached the Second Round of the EuroLeague but fell 2-0 to Wisla Can-Pack Krakow.
