|Sean Barnette ended his EuroChallenge campaign with an impressive all-round performance|
Sean Barnette of Rilski Sportist took a last bow in the EuroChallenge on Tuesday night, but left a lasting impression by delivering the best statistical performance of the Regular Season.
The 27-year-old shooting guard registered a season-high efficiency index rating of 38 in his team's 92-85 loss at BC Mures and claimed Week 7 Top Statistical Performer honours.
Barnette edged out for first place Team TEHO Sport Kotka's Sharaud Curry, who reached an efficiency rating of 37, which is also higher than any statistical performance that had occurred during the first six weeks of this EuroChallenge campaign.
The previous best efficiency index rating belonged to Tsmoki Mink's Keith Benson Jr, who had reached a mark of 36 in his team's game against BC Mures during Week 5.
On Tuesday, Barnette did almost everything possible to lead Rilski to a second win in their final game in the competition, as he poured in 24 points on 10-for-15 shooting from the floor, grabbed a stratospheric 18 rebounds and dished out four assists and came up with two steals.
Barnette sunk a free throw 82 seconds from the final buzzer to complete an amazing three-point play and give his team an 85-84 lead, but hosts Mures scored the last eight points in the encounter and celebrated victory.
The contrast with the reward that Curry received for his stellar display could not have been any starker, as the diminutive point guard lifted Kotka to a dramatic win that ushered them into the Last 16.
Curry poured in a competition season-high 38 points on 13-of-18 from the floor, including five three-pointers, brought down six boards and dished out three assists to pave the way for Kotka's amazing 90-87 victory at Okapi Aalstar.
The 26-year-old point guard was impressive in the clutch and scored six of Kotka's last seven points in the game, to ensure the Finnish side would secure the three-point margin they needed.
Aaron McGhee, who was Week 6 top statistical performer, showed remarkable consistency in repeating an efficiency index rating of 31 and taking third place on the table this week.
In order to step on the podium, the veteran big man collected a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds in Ural Ekaterinburg's 84-64 win over Fortress Jaszberenyi on the road.
