|Kyle Shiloh led the way for Gaz Metan Medias on Tuesday evening with 17 points|
Gaz Metan Medias picked up a second road win in Group D of EuroChallenge as they held off Kormend to triumph 73-68 in Hungary.
Medias led almost from start to finish, but had a scare when Kormend rallied to tie it with a little over six minutes to go.
Their response was swift and firm, however, as they reeled off nine unanswered points to ensure Kormend could not trouble them again.
Kyle Shiloh led the way with 17 points while Aurelian Dumitrescu added 12 and Slavisa Bogavac had 11.
Medias jumped out to an early 7-2 lead and the game quickly settled down, the visitors holding a narrow lead which Kormend only once snatched for themselves - Devon Moore scoring six quick points to have them up 27-26.
They enjoyed the lead for all of 13 seconds before Shiloh took it back, and it looked as though Medias would pull away for good as another Shiloh basket early in the third period made it 43-33.
But Kormend kept scrapping, and a Jeremy Fears jump-shot tied it at 59 with 6:19 to go.
Again Medias crushed the rally before it could gain any further traction, with Shiloh scoring five in a 9-0 run.
Attila Farkas' three-pointer and a Gergely Kutasi lay-up gave Kormend hope, down four with 1:53 to go and Fears made it a two-point game when he went to the line with 21 seconds left for two free throws.
Willie Kemp responded at the opposite end to make it 72-68 with 19 seconds left and a Fears turnover then effectively ended Kormend's night.
Fears led the hosts with 19 points while Zarko Rakocevic added 16 and Farkas 14.
