Lamayn Wilson, seen here playing last season for Krasnye Krylia, clinched victory for Cholet over Bakken Bears on Tuesday night with a put-back with three seconds to play

A Lamayn Wilson put-back shot three seconds from the final buzzer gave Cholet Basket a dramatic 68-66 win on the road over the previously unbeaten Bakken Bears Aarhus on Tuesday.

The Danish side came into the Group G Week 3 encounter on a 10-game winning streak across the EuroChallenge and their domestic league, but committed 22 turnovers on Tuesday, off which Cholet scored 24 vital points.

Cholet reached the half-time interval with a 40-31 lead as they forced their hosts to commit consecutive turnovers and undergo an almost five-minute long dry spell midway through the second quarter.

Bakken however were dominant on the glass, out-rebounding their French guests 44-32, and Thomas Laerke with a lay-up 4:07 from the end of the third period restored the hosts in the lead, 47-46.

With Cholet struggling offensively and scoring just two points in the first six minutes of the final frame, the Danes appeared to be pulling away when Laerke again established a 62-56 cushion.

But Lamine Kante hit a jumper with 2:28 left of the clock and then made the most of yet another Bakken turnover to drill a three-pointer on the next possession and give Cholet a 63-62 lead.

Nikolai Iversen and Brandon Penn scored from inside to restore Bakken in the driver's seat, 66-63, but Terrell Stoglin tied the scores with a big triple 59 seconds from the final buzzer.

Bakken misfired on the other end of the court and Cholet imitated them on two occasions when they regained possession but grabbed two back-to-back offensive boards until finally Deus-Ex-Machina Wilson scored off a Stoglin missed jumper.

Stoglin finished with 18 points and four assists, the veteran Wilson had 13 points and eight boards and Rudy Jomby picked up 10 points and four rebounds for the winners.

Meanwhile for Bakken, Laerke finished with 20 points and Chris Christoffersen collected a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.
