| Eva Lisec led Slovenia to safety with an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double|
Another big-time effort by Eva Lisec guaranteed the Division A survival of Slovenia at the U18 European Championship Women after the center guided her team to a crunch 64-56 victory over the Slovak Republic.
Lisec emerged from the game in Vinkovci having accrued 18 points and 10 rebounds, whilst Klara Zupancic underpinned the contribution of her teammate with a handy 16-point haul.
After getting their noses in front off the back of a 6-0 burst in the first quarter which gave them an 18-12 lead, Slovenia managed to stay ahead for the remainder of the game.
However, Slovakia never allowed their opponents to feel comfortable by being blown away and they proved to be a pesky proposition as they hung around.
Even when Slovenia moved 39-25 ahead just before the break, the Slovak Republic managed to hang tough during the second half and eventually cut the gap to eight points with just under two minutes left on the game clock.
However, time ran out and Slovenia were able to reflect on banking a place in the top tier for next year.
The Slovak Republic meanwhile will have to do the business in the Classification Games for 13th to 16th place.
Terezia Palenikova and Eva Filickova combined for 36 points for the Slovakians.
