|Sarah Beránková topped scoring for the Czech Republic with 14 points|
Czech Republic are breathing a little more easily at the U18 European Championship Women in Vinkovci after they eased their way past Belarus 75-57 to ensure they will be returning to Division A next summer.
It had actually looked as if Belarus might be able to spring a surprise during the first quarter after they scored the first six points of the game and still found themselves 19-18 in front after 10 minutes.
However, things unravelled quickly during the second period as the Czechs turned the defensive screw and caught fire on offence.
A three by Sarah Berankova sparked a 15-4 run which took the game away from Belarus and by the third quarter, the Czechs had increased their advantage to 54-34.
Belarus started the last period with eight points without reply but it was too little too late and they were condemned to a seventh consecutive defeat.
Belarus do still have the chance to redeem themselves and survive in the top flight if they can win their last two games in the Classification Games for 9th to 16th place.
Berankova top scored for Czech Republic with 14 points, whilst Viyaleta Kiuliak equalled that tally for Belarus and chipped in with seven rebounds, three assists and three steals.
