On Tuesday the EuroBasket 2013 Local Organising Committee (LOC) and BMW Group Slovenija officially announced their co-operation for the impending tournament.

BMW Group Slovenija will be one of the event suppliers at EuroBasket 2013, fulfilling the role of official automobile supplier for the tournament.

BMW have already begun working with the LOC, serving as official car supplier for last year's U20 European Championship and at the EuroBasket 2013 draw.

"We are pleased with both [the] vehicles and [the] cooperation and therefore we believe that everyone who will be using the vehicles [during EuroBasket 2013] will be satisfied with them," director of EuroBasket 2013 Ales Kriznar told assembled media at the announcement.

EuroBasket 2013 ambassador, Raso Nesterovic has been one of the first people given a BMW to drive as part of the agreement. The former Slovenian national-team player has been grateful for the chance to be driving a BMW. "I am thankful to the chief executive of BMW Group [Lothar Schupert] for offering me the opportunity to test one of the vehicles," he said at the announcement.

Schupert is also excited about the agreement. "We at BMW Group Slovenia are proud to support the biggest sporting event ever to be seen in Slovenia. Basketball is very popular in Slovenia, therefore we expect it to be a very successful event."

BMW Group Slovenija is the official importer of BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad for Slovenia.
