|Alexander Bak and Denmark ticked the win column in Luxembourg|
Luxembourg are the only team in Group C of the EuroBasket 2015 1st Qualification Round with no wins to their name as of Wednesday, as Denmark prevailed 73-62 in the battle between the two sides.
The Danish managed to make some headway in the clash midway through the second quarter, when their second unit started making a contribution and fatigue began to kick in for Luxembourg - Denmark got 22 points from their bench players, the hosts just seven.
Denmark dominated the battle on the glass, out-rebounding the home side 50-31, but a mobile and aggressive Luxembourg managed to provoke 19 Danish turnovers and stay relatively close until the fourth frame of the encounter.
When Mikkel Plannthin hit a jumper though with 3:29 on the clock to give the Danes their biggest lead in the game, 70-53, any chance of a closely-contested finish to the game was eliminated and the guests simply waited for the final buzzer to celebrate their first victory in the competition.
Guard Esben Reinholt paved the way for the winners with 24 points and five rebounds, veteran center Nicolai Iversen finished with 15 points and five boards and Plannthin chipped in with 11 points;
Samy Picard, Luxembourg's 25-year-old forward, delivered another stand-out performance in this competition and finished with 26 points and five rebounds in a losing effort.
