France captain Antoine Rigaudeau remains optimistic less than three weeks from the start of the EuroBasket despite Les Bleus' two defeats to Spain in the Torneo Internacional Amistoso.
France fell 95-84 on Saturday and 94-88 on day later.
Rigaudeau, who finished with 13 points in 17 minutes of the second defeat - he was three of four from behind the arc - told www.basketfrance.com: "I don't think the final score really reflected the game but it's true we lost.
"We showed a lot of good things and that's encouraging. We made big mistakes on defence towards the end of the contest which allowed them to increase the margin of victory.
"But as a whole, we saw we have potential to improve and that's the most interesting thing.
"We are still eager to work hard and remain united."
France's next games will take place in Istanbul from August 29 to September 4 at the Efes Cup.
They will then travel to Limoges to face Ukraine, Bulgaria and Turkey.
"We are about to start a series of difficult matches which will test us even better," added Rigaudeau.
"The more difficulty there is, the faster our progress will be."
National coach Claude Bergeaud is expected to unveil his final 12-man squad after the Limoges tournament.
