Ann Wauters scored 21 points and pulled down 10 rebounds as Belgium defeated Slovakia 77-58 in their second EuroBasket Women qualifier on Wednesday.
Belgium needed the win after dropping their opener to Latvia, while Slovakia had beaten the Latvians 73-72 in their first game.
It didn't take too long for Belgium to assert any authority over their opponents. A 14-4 run to close the first quarter saw the home side take a commanding 26-14 lead after ten minutes.
The second period proved even more effective for the Belgians.
The lead ballooned to over 20 points and the home team were totally in charge, 43-24 at the half.
There was no way back for Slovakia in the second half and Belgium held on for a comfortable win.
Anke De Mondt added 16 points to Wauters' 21 and Kathy Wambe scored 13 and dished nine assists.
Belgium now have a week off before facing Latvia on 20th September at home.
Slovakia take on Latvia on Wednesday in Riga.
