|Tijana Krivacevic went down with a knee injury in domestic league action over the weekend|
In the wake of center Yelena Leuchanka leaving the club for a lucrative offer to play in EuroCup Women with Istanbul Universitesi, the club have been left rocked by worrying knee injuries to their remaining frontcourt kingpins Plenette Pierson and Tijana Krivacevic.
Both were ruled out of their recent domestic clash with MBK Ruzomberok and no date has been given as to when they will be able to return, with medical assessments ongoing.
Pierson is currently leading the team in both scoring and rebounding in EuroLeague Women, whilst Krivacevic is the most clinical player on the roster and was deemed to be the ideal player to get more minutes to make up for the departure of Leuchanka.
The club have also revealed that their reliable small forward Lucia Kupcikova is pregnant.
Kupcikova is one of the stars of the team and will be a big miss as the Slovak Republic try to progress from the EuroBasket Women 2nd Qualification Round this summer, in a group containing Poland, Slovenia and Luxembourg.
However, the main priority for Kovacik remains getting the wins required to get into the EuroLeague Women play-offs, starting with a must-win game at HAT-AGRO Uni Gyor on Thursday.
Despite their issues at present, defeat against the bottom of the table Hungarians would be unthinkable with road trips to reigning champions UMMC Ekaterinburg and Tango Bourges either side of their last regular season home game against Beretta Famila Schio.
One possible move by the club who are now arguably bordering on an emergency situation, is to bring back the legendary Zuzana Zirkova who has not played for the last couple of seasons.
She is said to be working to get into shape for what would certainly be a headline making return to the sport if both parties strike a deal.
Meanwhile General Manager Daniel Jendrichovsky has confirmed Good Angels will not be making a return to the Infiniti Arena in a bid to get back on a winning track.
They will continue to pursue their first success at the larger Steel Arena, where they have lost all three games so far this season.
