|Gabriela Marginean was flawless from the foul line, making 15 of 15 free throws|
Having had to wait since the nineties for their previous EuroLeague Women win, this time Municipal Targoviste left a mere seven days between victories after they emerged 87-82 winners of their Group B match-up at UE Sopron.
In a game which witnessed both teams spend plenty of time at the free-throw line, the Romanian visitors made the most of it with 26-point Gabriella Marginean making a perfect 15 of 15 to help secure a hard-fought and precious road win.
However it had looked like Serbian forward Jelena Milovanovic may emerge as the game winner for the home team after she revelled in a remarkable purple patch ahead of half-time.
With the contest potentially slipping away from UE Sopron, she could barely miss from the arc as she sunk a wonderful five of six triple attempts to ensure it was only a one-shot game at 51-48 by the midway point of the game.
Things got even better during the third quarter for the 30-point Milovanovic when her fellow Serbian Sara Krnjic put Sopron 67-60 in front, but things began to unravel in rapid quick-time either side of the third and fourth quarter break.
Targoviste found another gear with a 22-7 burst, and it proved decisive since it knocked the stuffing out of their opponent who couldn't recover.
In addition to the fine work of Marginean, forward Jillian Robbins completed a nicely efficient double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.
