Spanish powerhouse Sancho Lyttle was hailed EuroBasket Women 2013 MVP after propelling her team to the top of the podium with a tremendous tournament double-double.

The veteran forward finished as the best player in the competition, having accumulated a stellar 18.4 points and 11.1 rebounds per game - including a pivotal role in helping Spain take gold in their absorbing 70-69 Final success against France.

Lyttle was also a tower of strength defensively, coming up with 2.9 steals and 1.3 blocked shots per game.

She was joined in the All Tournament Team by her colleague Alba Torrens who certainly set the tone in the decisive game.

Torrens produced a typically athletic and all-action display, finishing her time on French soil with a team-high 16.2 points, along with 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game.

There was a second silver medal within 12 months for Les Bleues duo Celine Dumerc and Isabelle Yacoubou, although the personal recognition of taking a place in the All Tournament Team may not be enough of a consolation after such an agonising climax.

Dumerc propelled France to the Final with her stunning late show from the three-point line in the memorable quarter-final against Sweden and averaged 6.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.

There could barely have been a more popular vote than Yacoubou whose performances on the court and personality off it, continued to capture the imagination of the French public. The fan favourite was the most clinical inside player in the tournament with a wonderful 69.1% helping to harvest 11.1 points per game. She also averaged 5.4 rebounds each time she stepped out.

It was an up and down first major tournament for Sweden who had to ride an emotional roller-coaster, achieving their joint-best finish of seventh place after an absence stretching back to 1987.

But, they missed out on the semi-finals and also a slot at the FIBA World Championship for Women, although now Frida Eldebrink can take satisfaction in being the final member of the All Tournament Team.

Having played for Bourges Basket last season, she is taking her game to the Spanish League in the autumn and showed what would be missed with 15.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
