Short-Term Deal For Dubljevic Back At Rivas

Jelena Dubljevic has returned to former club Rivas Ecopolis, the Spanish outfit has announced.

The Montenegro international played for Rivas from 2006-10.

The Madrid team has signed the 24-year-old until 29 December as cover for injured Croatia national team center Iva Sliskovic.

In her last season with the club, Rivas made their debut in the EuroLeague Women and Dubljevic averaged 12.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.

She spent last season in France with Tarbes and while the team did not progress from the Qualifying Round, the 1.88m forward had a good year statistically with averages of 16 points and 5.1 boards.

She began this season with Cras Basket Taranto but left the team at the end of September, with the Italian club wishing Dubljevic well and saying she had demonstrated professionalism.

No player was in better form than Dubljevic in the first six games of the EuroBasket Women this summer when she helped the Montenegrins enjoy a 6-0 start.

Turkey ended their medal hopes by winning their Quarter-Final and Montenegro ended up finishing sixth.

Dubljevic ended up ranking second in minutes played at the EuroBasket Women, averaging 35.3.

She averaged 13.9 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists.

Montgomery Out At Györ

Renee Montgomery is a promising player who is hoping to play for the United States at next year's Olympics.

She has had a setback in that endeavor, however, after having her contract terminated by Uni Seat Györ.

The club announced they took the decision, claiming that Montgomery had "repeatedly been in breach of club house rules and disciplinary rules".

The 24-year-old point guard joined the club late after touring with coach Geno Auriemma and the USA national team in Europe.

She averaged 16 points, 2.7 assists and 2.7 rebounds for Györ.

In 2010, she played for TEO Vilnius and averaged 17.6 points per game.

Györ are 1-2 in Group A and host Galatasaray on Wednesday night.
