Amaya Valdemoro is looking forward to playing in her home city of Madrid again.
The Spain international this week joined Rivas Ecopolis, a team that made a surprising run to first place in its group during the Qualifying Round of the EuroLeague Women.
Valdemoro once played in the city for Pool Getafe and reached the 1998 EuroLeague Women Final with the team.
At 33 years of age, Valdemoro is a veteran but she has no intention of slowing down.
"I have come here with a deep desire to continue to battle for a long time," she said.
"I will give 100%.
"I am a very competitive player and I don't like to lose.
"I will try to bring my experience and transmit it to the team."
She is the most celebrated signing in Rivas history, the EuroBasket Women 2007 MVP who has played for some of the real giants in Europe.
Valdemoro has turned out for Halcon Avenida, Ros Casares and CSKA Moscow during her famous career.
"Rivas Ecopolis is growing year by year and right now, it's an alternative to the top two teams (Ros Casares and Avenida) in Spain," she said.
"I always wanted to return to Madrid.
"The lack of competitive teams in Madrid in previous years didn't allow me to return but that has changed."
