Wisla Can-Pack Krakow turned on the style in the fourth quarter and won 73-65 at Gospic Croatia.
Coming off a disappointing performance in a 65-50 home defeat to Rivas Ecopolis, the Polish club prevailed on Wednesday night to improve to 5-2 in Group C.
Winning at Gospic was anything but easy for Wisla.
Down 57-55 with 7:10 remaining, the visitors pulled level with a Katarzyna Krezel jump shot and they took the lead with another basket from Ewelina Kobryn.
Kalisha Keane's jump shot knotted the game for Gospic at 59-59 with 5:46 to play, but Erin Phillips' three-pointer and a Nicole Powell jumper put the Krakow team in front for good.
Jose Ignacio Hernandez's team ended up outscoring Gospic 21-12 in the fourth quarter.
Powell had 22 points, Phillips 15 and Kobryn 13 for Wisla.
Kobryn also pulled down 11 rebounds.
Julie McBride and Marija Vrsaljko scored 16 points apiece for the Croatian team, who fell to 2-5 with the defeat.
Gospic head coach Stipe Bralić:
"We have played good at the start when we have been in a good shape and play their players of Wisla are physical stronger than we ant that was the point of the game. The biggest point of this losing is that we did not had many players we can rotate in and out instead of Wisla, Then my players on the last minutes of the game lost their precision."
Gospic player Marija Vrsaljko:
"We have given all we have in this game, that are WNBA players and are strong to fight in a duell because they have more power than we. we had the lead in the third play of the game we did not and cant hold the lead because we have been out of strenght and did not get some better shout til the end. We have lost from a stronger team."
Wisla head coach Jose I. Hernandez:
"A hard game, we have won because our players have been stronger than Gospić in the last 3 minutes of the game, at the end of the game gospic had not the best shots at all. I congratulate Gospic to a good game we had a hard game to win."
Wisla player Ana Dabović:
"I think that gospic is a very good team that knows to play. In the first half Gospic was better at the start of the second half gospic was 10 points ahead of us. At this time we had played and given all we have to win this game. In our team we have more players that are going around in the game and play."
