Hello everybody ☺
The last round of the EuroLeague Women regular season is here. Some may think there is not a lot on the table to play for, but the opposite is true.
Teams in group C are still eagerly fighting for the chance to advance to the next round and even though it is known who will advance in the other groups there is still a lot to play for.
The rankings of the team as well as the number of wins and losses can determine the final ranking for the second round of Euroleague women.
Some teams and coaches pay a lot of attention to this and they are trying to somehow figure out who might be their opponent in the next round.
Some might even think about the possibility of losing the last regular season game just to play against a team which is in their eyes an "easier" opponent in the next round.
The calculators and good math skills can come handy these days ☺
But as everything comes together every team wants to play their best. Not only for the team's good feeling but also for the fans and sponsors because without them we would not be able to play basketball at this level!
I am very excited to see how some of the teams are giving so much back to their communities.
How the teams are creating fan cubs for children who come and support their idols. How the basketball games become the meeting point for local businesses. How the players are going to schools and hospitals to share their experience and luck with others.
All of these things are part of being a professional athlete and we as players need to do those things to remind us that we are tremendously lucky to do this job.
Because sometimes we are so focused only on playing and our performance that we forget that there are many people who are watching us and cheering for us no matter what the result is.
So good luck to all teams and let's keep working hard ☺
