Beretta Famila Schio beat UNIQA-Euroleasing Sopron on Thursday night for their first win in the EuroLeague Women since the opening week.
The Italians led from start to finish and recorded a 59-50 victory.
Sopron are now 2-4 in Group B and Schio 2-3.
The visitors from Hungary fell behind 8-0 but came back and trailed 10-8 after Diana Fürész's shot from the arc.
Schio then outscored the visitors 8-3 over the last 1:31 of the first quarter for a 22-14 lead.
Laura Macchi had eight points and Cheryl Ford seven for the hosts in the frame.
Maurizio Lasi's Schio would go on a 16-0 run bridging the second and third quarters for what appeared to be a commanding 44-20 advantage.
But Sopron then came to life.
The Hungarians went on a 13-2 run themselves over the last 3:16 of the quarter to trail 46-33.
After a Janel McCarville free-throw at the start of the fourth for Schio, Sopron poured in nine consecutive points.
That left them down 47-42 with 5:26 to play.
Schio's Macchi hit a jump shot, Ford a free-throw and McCarville a jumper to take the lead back to 52-42 with 3:31 to go.
Sopron got no closer than seven points the rest of the way.
Macchi's 16 points led Schio, and Ford had 13 rebounds to go with her 10 points.
Olexandra Kurasova led Sopron with 14 points and seven boards.
Beretta-Famila coach Maurizio Lasi:
"We played very good for three quarters, then we lost our intensity and Sopron tried to come back. We must be happy for this important victory but we need, for the next game, to keep focused until the end."
Beretta-Famila player Chiara Pastore:
"It was important to win this game after our last match in Poland. We're satisfied for that but we must learn to fight until the end of the game because in EuroLeague it ain't over until it's over."
Sopron coach Norbert Szekely:
"We are a young team and we are learning with every game. We are working hard to fare always better in EuroLeague competition and try to win not only at home but abroad too."
Sopron player Zsofia Fegyverneky:
"We always fight until the end of the game, this is how we learned to play basketball. Too many mistakes in the first half but in the last quarter we pushed and try to win the game."
