Wisla Can-Pack Krakow were pushed to the limit but won a 74-71 thriller at MiZo Pecs to remain undefeated in the EuroLeague Women.
One of the biggest stories in the women's game got even bigger when Jose Hernandez's side came from behind in the fourth quarter to stun MiZo, who were desperate for a win to enhance their chances of reaching the Eighth-Final Play-offs.
Remembering that Wisla only joined the EuroLeague at the last minute following the withdrawal of financially troubled CSKA Moscow, the 7-0 start in Group B for the Polish team ranks as one of the biggest surprises ever in the competition.
MiZo, whose biggest advantage in the final frame was 67-63 with 5:13 remaining, were pegged back as Ewelyna Kobryn hit a jump shot and Janell Burse made a lay-up.
A lay-up by Pecs veteran Dalma Ivanyi lifted the hosts back into a 69-67 advantage.
Enter Katerina Zohnová, a Czech international who played for her country at the EuroBasket this summer.
The 25-year-old hit one of the biggest shots of her career by knocking down a three-pointer for a 70-69 Wisla lead with 1:41 to go.
It was the only three-ball to go down for Wisla in 12 attempts.
After a Nicole Ohlde turnover, Burse made another lay-up but with 36 seconds left, Hungary international point guard Zsófia Fegyverneky scored to cut the deficit to 72-71.
The experienced Burse took the lead to 74-71 with a jump shot and MiZo called timeout.
The Hungarians had four looks from long range in the final seconds but missed as Wisla held on for their seventh win in their incredible campaign.
While Zohnová and Burse hit the big shots late, it was the scoring of Spanish star Marta Fernandez that carried Wisla for much of the game.
She had 18 of her game-high 25 points in the first half.
MiZo lost for the fifth time in seven games despite out-rebounding the Polish club 40-28.
Kobryn, who had 14 points, and Agnieszka Majewska each had three blocks while Burse swatted two shots.
Anna Vajda poured in 18 points and Ohlde 17 for MiZo.
Ferndandez Marta, player of Wisla Can - Pack Kraków:

Jose Ignacio Herndandez, Head coach of Wisla Can Pack Kraków:
"It was a difficult game against a very good team. We made less turnovers than the MiZo Pecs 2010."
Akos Fuzy, Head coach of MiZo Pecs 2010:
"We forced Krakow into the hard play. We fought till the last ball. The team played with magnificient efficiency, but at the end we had no luck. Maybe some missed free throws kept us from winning."
